Adding team seats

If your organization is on the Team tier, you can add additional seats beyond what's included in the base plan. This article covers how seats work and what they cost.

What a seat is

A seat corresponds to one person on your team who has access to administer your Blacksands organization — granting and revoking access, managing agent identities, reviewing the audit trail and access ledger, and so on. This is distinct from apps and MCP clients (see Understanding your plan limits), which measure the things and agents you're protecting rather than the people managing the platform.

Base seats and additional seats

The Team tier includes a base number of seats as part of the plan price. If your team grows beyond that, you can add additional seats at $39/mo per extra seat — each additional seat is billed on top of your base Team subscription, prorated the same way the rest of your Stripe subscription is.

Adding a seat

From your organization's team settings, you can invite a new member and, if you've used up your included seats, the console will prompt you to add a paid seat before the invitation completes. This keeps billing transparent — you'll always see the added cost before confirming a new invite, rather than discovering it later.

Removing a seat

If a team member leaves or no longer needs administrative access, removing them from the team frees up that seat. Depending on your current billing cycle, a freed seat may reduce your next invoice's additional-seat line item — check your organization's billing summary for the specifics of your current cycle.

Seats on other tiers

Seat management as described here is specific to the Team tier's model of a base allotment plus paid add-ons. If you're on Business or Enterprise and need to understand how team member access is structured on your plan, see Upgrading or changing your plan or Contacting support for tier-specific details.
